Spider-Man’s movie appearances in the MCU have always been in partnership between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. Likewise, Tom Holland’s version of Peter Parker followed Sony’s previousSpider-Manfranchises starring Andrew Garfield inThe Amazing Spider-Manmovies and Tobey Maguire’sSpider-Mantrilogy before that. FeaturingRobert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man as Spider-Man’s mentor, Peter Parker struggles with his current status as a “Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” and his desire to immediately become an Avenger.During the trailers and promos for this movie, an iconic shot was frequently shown depicting Spider-Man and Iron Man swinging/flying over Queens…but was nowhere to be found in the actual movie itself (much to fans' dismay).

We Didn’t Get To See All of It
InSpider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man has to deal with the aftermath of Mysterio outing his secret identity to the world.This includes Peter and his loved ones eventually being brought in for questioning by the Department of Damage Control. While the theatrical cut of the thirdSpider-Mandid feature the interrogation, deleted scenes released months later revealed that the sequence was originally much longer. Likewise, some of these questions were fairly significant, particularly those asked of Aunt May (revealing some of her past).

Did Peter Parker Somehow Get A Pass?
A big focus ofCaptain America: Civil Warhas to do with the creation of theSokovia Accords, new legislation that sought to have superheroes like the Avengers and other enhanced individuals registered with the government. However, Iron Man still brought a masked and underage hero into the fold, andSpider-Man: Homecomingended with Stark fully intending to make Spider-Man an Avenger.That said, nothing was ever revealed about what Stark’s plan was, whether Peter would’ve had to reveal his identity to the government, whether Stark cut some sort of deal, or whether Spider-Man wasn’t considered consequential enough to warrant registration under the Accords.
7Spider-Man Making His Final No Way Home Suit
His Best MCU Suit Yet
Spider-Man: No Way Homeends with the entire world forgetting who Peter Parker is, having been the only way Doctor Strange was able to reverse the botched spell that had ripped a tear in the fabric of the multiverse. Moving into the city in a single-room apartment,Peter Parker is shown listening to a police scanner before donning a brand-new suit off-screen, one seemingly inspired by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Webslingers. While we do see leftover fabric and a sewing machine,we don’t actually see Peter Parker making his new Spider-Man suit on-screen(which would have been a very cool moment).

Maguire and Garfield Got Their Scenes…
Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’sSpider-Manfranchises both had great scenes where Peter Parker learns how to web swing for the first time.However, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man debuts in the MCU, having already figured out web swinging. While this makes sense considering Marvel Studios' desire not to do another origin story for a hero as iconic and well-known as Spider-Man, it still would have been fun to see.
5Spider-Man Building His Web-Shooters
Proving His Genius In The MCU
In a similar vein, the MCU’s Peter Parker had already created his impressive web-shooters by the time he met Tony Stark inCaptain America: Civil War. One of the Marvel Universe’s most impressive inventions,Spider-Man’s web shootersare prime proof of his genius as an engineer. However, it’s yet another key off-screen moment that we never saw in the MCU and was already established.
4Reuniting With Aunt May After The Blip
It Was Likely A Pretty Emotional Moment
Near the end ofAvengers: Endgame, Bruce Banner uses the Infinity Stones to bring back half of all life in the universe that Thanos had snapped away. After Iron Man used the Stones to dust Thanos himself and all his forces,Endgame’sfinal scenes see multiple characters reuniting with their loved ones who’d been lost. For Spider-Man, this meant reuniting with his best friend Ned at Midtown High. However, one can imagine that Peter reuniting with his Aunt May (or MJ) was likely more emotionally significant.That said, Aunt May does reference blipping back inSpider-Man: Far From Home.
3Aunt May Accepts Peter Parker As Spider-Man
What Happened After “What The F—?!”
At the end ofSpider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man is excited to put on his suit again after it was returned by Tony Stark.However, it’s just in time for Aunt May to see him, resulting in a more than justifiable “What the f—?!“right before the movie’s credits roll. In future movies, Aunt May is more or less okay with Peter’s activities as Spider-Man, suggesting that there was indeed an off-screen conversation where she and Peter finally hashed everything out, albeit off-screen.
2The Death of Uncle Ben
Yes, We Know What Happens, But Still…
One of the most important parts of Spider-Man’s origins in any medium (or variant) is almost always the death of Uncle Ben. The man who taught Peter that “With great power, there must also come great responsibility”, Uncle Ben was an incredibly important person in Peter Parker’s early life, and his death was the pivotal canon event that helped him evolve into a hero. Sure enough,Uncle Ben’s death has been loosely referenced in the MCUand connected media, though it has intentionally never been shown along with several other pieces of Spider-Man’s origins (like the aforementioned web-shooters and web swinging).
1Spider-Man Gets Bitten By A Radioactive Spider
A Quick Flashback Would Have Been Nice…
Beyond the death of his Uncle Ben, the other key piece of Spider-Man’s origins is of course, the radioactive spider bite that gave Peter Parker his powers in the first place. While visiting a science experiment, Peter Parker is bitten by an inadvertently irradiated spider. However, such a key moment for Spider-Man has never been shown in the MCU before, as he’d already been Spider-Man for 6 months before he debuted inCaptain America: Civil War.
At one point inSpider-Man: Homecoming, Peter is answering Ned’s many questions about how he got his powers, and the radioactive spider is mentioned.However, there aren’t very many details beyond the spider having existed. That said, Marvel’s recentFriendly Neighborhood Spider-Mananimated series (set in an alternate MCU) has a wilder origin for Peter Parker’s powers, a bootstrap paradox where Spider-Man only got his powers because of a spider injected with his own blood sent back to the past by a Doctor Strange portal.
