Out of the millions of anime franchises that have been released over the last few decades,Pokémonremains one of the most beloved and popular. This incredible series allowed fans to explore a fantastic world where powerful creatures worked alongside humans to prove their strength and ability.

While it is true thatAsh’s 25 seasons as the protagonistof the main series have been vital to the franchise’s success, many other amazing entries deserve as much love.Pokémon Chronicles, one of the most unique and exciting spin-offs, has been missing for more than 2 decades, and it is time for it to be brought back.

Pokémon Chronicles Enchanted an Entire Generation

The Spin-off Was Quite Entertaining

Back in 2003, as Ash continued his journey through the Hoenn Region, thePokémonfranchise released a spin-off anime that would serve as a complement to the main series. This show, namedChronicles, followed the adventures of many of the series' most beloved side characters, such as Brock and Misty, two of Ash’s best companions.

The show quickly became popular among fans of the original, as it brought back trainers and Pokémon that had not been seen in several months or even years. The stories ofChroniclescould be enjoyed by old and new fans, as they were not directly tied to Ash’s journey. For many fans, this spin-off is among the anime franchise’s best works.

Lamentably, while audiences loved the show, it never found the success of the main series, leading to its ending only a year later. Despite this, a significant portion of the fandom still holds a deep affection forChronicles, as it allowed them to learn and enjoy more of the characters that the series would often forget about.

Chronicles Has Been Neglected by the Pokémon Company

The Series Has Not Been Seen in 20 Years

Over the last few years, the team behind thePokémonfranchise has worked hard to make sure that itslong list of anime and moviesbecomes available for fans to enjoy. One of the few shows that has been completely neglected isChronicles, as there has been no attempt to revitalize the series even 2 decades after its finale.

While the anime did receive official physical releases in Europe and Australia, American fans have been virtually forbidden from reliving the series. The series is not available in disc format or online, despite many shows from the same time having been uploaded for fans to enjoy once again. Fans have been pleading for the show to become available again.

Furthermore, many members of the fandom believe that a new season ofChronicleswould be a massive success, given thepopularity of theHorizonsanime. Woefully, besides including a list of episodes on the official website, thePokémoncompany has not attempted to revive or re-releaseChronicles.
