9-1-1’s spinoff,9-1-1: Nashville, is coming to ABC, and the network appears to already be working on a crossover between the two shows.ABC’s9-1-1franchiseis expanding with its upcoming offshoot, which, as one can deduce from its title, is set in Nashville. Given that the parent series takes place in LA, a crossover is difficult, but not impossible.
Oliver Stark, who stars as Buck inthe9-1-1cast, shared a video of himself in Nashvilleahead of the season 9 premiere. In the clip from@911TVNEWSon X, Stark is going for a run on Broadway, and the text on the screen reads,“6 Nashville Miles for breakfast.“All this suggests that Stark is in town to film a crossover.

What Oliver Stark’s Video Means For 9-1-1 & 9-1-1: Nashville
A Crossover Was Inevitable
Sinceproduction on9-1-1season 9 is underway, we can infer that Stark’s post spoils an upcoming crossover between his show and its new spinoff,9-1-1: Nashville. After all,the original procedural drama is filmed in LA, while the offshoot’s production is based in Nashville. It can’t be a coincidence that Stark is in Nashville when he just started shooting season 9.
Stark’s video isn’t too surprising. Well, it’s a bit shocking that the actor would reveal he’s in Nashville, knowing it would reveal that a collaboration between9-1-1and9-1-1: Nashvilleis in the works. However, a9-1-1crossover was inevitable. The two shows air back-to-back on Thursday nightsstarting in the fall of 2025. So, a9-1-1crossover just makes sense.

Our Take On Buck Appearing In 9-1-1: Nashville
The Franchise Has Needed A Real Crossover For A Long Time
As mentioned above, the two9-1-1shows' differing locations would make it difficult logistically to plan a crossover. ABC had to make it work, though, especially since9-1-1never had a true crossover with9-1-1: Lone Star.Yes, some actors from the original series appeared in one episode of the first spinoff. But that wasn’t enough.
Perhaps the upcoming event’s circumstances are similar to those in the9-1-1and9-1-1: Lone Starcrossover. As such, its story would probably only take place over the course of one episode and only features onecharacter from9-1-1(aka Buck). That would be a bit disappointing if that’s the case.

Still,Buck’s lone appearance would open the door to the possibility of bigger crossoverswith higher stakes. The two series could come together in the future to cover a more significant case. Whatever the case, ABC is setting the spinoff up for success. Fans can be persuaded to watch9-1-1: Nashville, knowing that one of their favorite9-1-1characters will appear.
