The brief teaser compiled several scenes from the Yoshiwara in Flames arc, as well as officially confirming that the movie will be available in 2026, five years since the previousGintama: The Very Finalmovie.
A poster was also released ahead ofGintama: Yoshiwara in Flames,featuring the main character, Gintoki Sakata, against a backdrop of roaring orange and red flames. Bandai Namco Pictures, the studio that has handled theotherGintamaanime and films, will produceGintama: Yoshiwara in Flames. Naoya Ando will direct the film,Yoichi Fujita will be the supervisor, and Taku Kishimoto will be the scriptwriter. Shinji Takeuchi, who worked on previousGintamafilms, will be the character designer and chief animation director.
As if the new movie announcement was not thrilling enough,Gintamawill also receive a new spin-off anime in October 2025, called3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-sensei.This series places Ginpachi Sakata in a new role as a high school teacher, and will have a slice-of-life feel with laugh-out-loud humor and hysterical situations.
3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-senseialso received a trailer on theofficialGintamaYouTube channel, with an exclusive first look at the hilarious new anime. A brightly-colored key visual for the anime adaptation confirms the October 6 release date and shows off an image of Ginpachi-sensei sitting on a hill, surrounded by his joyful students.
