Alien: Earthhas wasted no time getting into the action, packing the first two episodes with some of the coolest Xenomorph kills. Sci-fi and horror are two genres that frequently cross over. Still, it’s easy to say thattheAlienfranchiseis one of the best sci-fi/horror franchises of all time. Luckily, it continues to expand in thrilling ways.

Morrow with the Xenomorph looming over his shoulder in Alien Earth episode 2

The most recent addition is the FX show Alien: Earth, which is set three years before the first movie in theAlientimeline. The first two episodes dropped on August 12, doubling up for the premiere. Moving forward, one episode will be released on Tuesdays at 8 pm.

While waiting for weekly releases might try my patience, it will be worth it if they’re all as awesome as the first two episodes. They threw viewers straight into the action aboard the USS Maginot, setting up the terror that continues throughout both episodes. Even though we’re just two episodes in, we’ve already seen some of the absolute coolest Xenomorph kills.

Alien: Earth’s First Two Episodes Feature Several Notable Xenomorph Kill Scenes

Alien: Earth throws the audience right into the action with the Xenomorph killing humans. The creature takes out the crew ofthe USS Maginot. It was an epic Xenomorph introduction scene in the show, building fear in both the audience and theAlien: Earth characters. I loved the moment when the Xenomorph busts through the glass to go after the cyborg.

However, episode two included even more fantastic Xenomorph kills. The creature chasing the search and rescue team is tense enough to make viewers’ palms sweaty and their hearts race. Even though we didn’t see it onscreen, we see the Xenomorph tear the party to shreds via the shadows on the ceiling.

Then, it took out all the soldiers in the hallways after it got out of Morrow’s strange cocoon-looking bag. It was a gloriously bloody and thrilling affair. I can only hope that the rest of Alien: Earth continues to include notable Xenomorph attacks and kills.

Why Alien: Earth Isn’t Wasting Time With Its Xenomorph Threat

Most sci-fi and horror TV shows will introduce audiences to the world, characters, and creatures before introducing the major threat. However, Alien: Earth doesn’t include a slow-burn threat that’s built on tension. Instead, it jumps straight into the violence from the Xenomorph.

I think they made this choice because it’s safe to say that most people who will watch Alien: Earth are already familiar with the franchise. As such, they don’t need to reintroduce us to the species and its powers.

Even people who are only loosely familiar with Xenomorphs know they’re super strong, fast, and agile. Most people know that their tails can be used as a weapon, and they spit acid.

For the small percentage of viewers who go into this show unfamiliar with the Xenomorph, it’s easy to find this information online as well. As such, it’s better to just get straight into the kills.
