Animal Crossing: New Horizonshas many different achievements that award players with Nook Miles that can be exchanged for various goods. One of these achievements is the Rock-Splitting Champ achievement.

Unlike how the achievement is worded, players don’t actually have to split rocks to obtain it. In fact, literally breaking rockswill just destroy the rock, so players should refrain from doing so unless they want to wait for a new rock to respawn on their islands.

In order to get the achievement, players need tohave either a shovel or an axe. It doesn’t matter if the tools are flimsy or upgraded as they will all perform the same job. However, if players want to not worry about their tools breaking in the middle of rock harvesting, they should either get a fresh tool or an upgraded one.

In order to get the Rock-Splitting Champ achievement, players need to hit a rock eight timesin a row and get an item out of each hit. However, if players don’t do this fast enough, the rock will stop producing materials and the player will need to find a new rock.

The problem with this lies in that players will slowly inch away from the rock while they hit it, eventually forcing them to miss or dig into the ground. This causes the player to run out of time. However, there is a solution forAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsplayers.

By digging holes orplacing furniture items behind the player, there will be a barrier that prevents the player from backing up too far away from the rock while hitting it. This will help make sure that the streak isn’t broken and the player can get all eight hits in, netting the achievement and Nook Miles.

Items that can be harvested from these rocks are stones, iron nuggets, clay, and rare gold nuggets. Additionally, one rock on players' islandsis the Bell Rock. Hitting this rock will net players more and more bells with each consecutive hit.
