Since launch,Anthemhas been regrettably plagued with bugs. One recently discovered bug is that a level 1 weapon can effectively deal asmuch damage as a Masterwork weapon, despite the damage indicators showing a huge difference in their damage output. Another one that has been plaguingAnthemfor some time is the health bug, which results in players loading into a mission with much less health than they are supposed to have.
Reportedly, this has resulted in a Javelin with 10 HP bars just to have 2-4, with it varying from mission to mission. Many believe this is somehow connected to a bug with a component, resulting in many overlapping layers with this particularly nastyAnthembug. This has made playing onGM1 or higherincredibly difficult, as players are legitimately one shot due to their reduced HP.
It’s worth mentioning that BioWare has been aware of the issue for some time, but at first believed it to be a UI issue. In other words, the company believed that while HP was being shown as reduced, players actually had their real HP values. As this was proven false, leadAnthemproducer Ben Irving recently confirmed the health bug to be a real issue and not a UI concern as previously thought.
Irving admitted to being wrong, which was met with favor from the community, and then confirmed that BioWare is working on the issue. However, a fix for this health bug will not appear in theforthcoming update on March 12, but this update will focus on a number of other concerns such as fixes for the Gunslinger’s Mark component, a better level 30 loot pool, and more issues focused on the stability ofAnthem.
Although we know the fix is not coming in the next update, it will hopefully come soon because, even despite these issues, there are several players enjoyingAnthem. This may not have been the launch BioWare was hoping for, but given the tendency of live service games to bounce back from a rocky start, many believeAnthemstill has potential.
Anthemis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
