As the weeks and months press on toAnthem’s release, BioWare and Electronic Arts continue to prime potential players with plenty of information about what they should expect when the action-RPG finally comes out next year. Just recently, in fact, a lot of particulars came out of the game’sclosed alpha, with one of the major details confirming that players will get individual loot drops for completing missions.
According to BioWare Lead Producer Ben Irving, inAnthem, “All loot is personal (not shared with the team), and [BioWare will] make tweaks to ensure that’s clear” for all players of the the upcoming multi-platform action-RPG. What’s more is that the developer is also doing “a pass on the frequency of loot drops”, which means that players with loot on the brain ought to look forward to even more drops occurring.

WithAnthemhaving been compared to Bungie’s science fiction shooterDestinyby myriad individuals on multiple occasions, it’s understandable for BioWare to be focusing so heavily on ensuring that loot is allocated properly to players. And while it has also been confirmed thatthere won’t be loot trading, the developer has assured fans that most of the loot which drops in the game will be for the Javelin class a player is using.
Taking all of this into account, it’s good to know thatAnthemplayers won’t be having to compete with one another over loot drops, as it would certainly undermine the game’s focus on cooperative multiplayer. That said, though, most players will have to just wait and find out for themselves if the chase forAnthem’s best loot will even be worth it. Thankfully, BioWare has promised thatthe game will have a beta period, so fans will be able to get some hands-on time with the title before launch and find out if it constitutes a Day One purchase.
Anthemis currently scheduled to launch on July 25, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
