While it’s safe to presume that manyAssassin’s Creed Odysseyfans were disappointed to learn of Ubisoft’s decision to put the game’srecurring epic mercenary events on holdfor the foreseeable future, at least players still have the action-adventure title’s first DLC to look forward to as post-launch content. With this being the case, the publisher and developer has decided to give everyone a better idea of what the first expansion will contain, by releasing a launch trailer for the game’s Legacy of the First Blade DLC.
As indicated in the trailer below,Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s Legacy of the First Blade will use its first episode, “Hunted”, to introduce players to the story of Darius, the killer of the Persian king Xerxes in the series' lore, and the first assassin to use the franchise’s iconic hidden blade. “Hunted” will be available for download starting on July 24, 2025, and is set to be the initial episode out of three for the Legacy of the First Blade DLC.
Following the release ofAssassin’s Creed Odyssey’s “Hunted” episode next week, Ubisoft will then offer up Legacy of the First Blade’s second installment, “Shadow Heritage”, and then its third chapter, “Bloodline”, before Spring 2019. After the story of Darius is wrapped up next year, the publisher and developer plans on putting outAC Odyssey’s second major expansion, The Fate of Atlantis, with its three episodes arriving six weeks apart as well.
All things considered, it will be interesting to seeAssassin’s Creed Odysseyfans' reception to Legacy of the First Blade, but if the expansion’s quality is on a similar plane to the base game–which receivedglowing reviews–then the add-on should handily please the game’s community. Nevertheless, we will simply have to wait and find out just how much TLC Ubisoft actually decided to put intoOdyssey’s first DLC.
Assassin’s Creed Odysseyis available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
