Huge Numbers Are Trying And Staying In Battlefield 6 Beta
Battlefield 6’sfirst open betais set to run from August 7-10, and is off to a very strong start. As expected with such high demand, fans have also faced long delays and extended waiting times to even get onto the servers on consoles, with over 200,000 people queued up waiting for their spot inBattlefield 6at the time of writing.
In comparison,Battlefield 5’speak player numbers on Steam were 114,017, and the latest release in the series,Battlefield 2042,peaked at 107,006 players online at the same time. While the open beta forBattlefield 6is free for all to play, the numbers are simply huge.

Could Battlefield Really Be Back?
An Opportunity To Return To The Top
Recent titles in theBattlefieldseries have seen a lot of criticism. The most recent entry in the series,Battlefield 2042, had huge issues at launch, which led to player counts dropping incredibly quickly. While developers were able to fix a lot of the problems, the damage had largely been done, and most never returned to the FPS.
Four years later,Battlefield 6has been highly anticipated, at a time when rivalCall of Dutyis struggling to reinvent the wheel. Previews forBattlefield 6show off an ambitious game, and one which fans have a huge amount of hope for.

Theinterest in the trailers thatBattlefield 6has released confirms the player base is invested in the larger-scale combat that the series is known for. Everything that has been shown of the game so far has been positive, and the opening reaction to the beta suggests theBattlefieldseries could be set to make a return to its glory days.
Battlefield 6has already confirmed a number of features set to go down very well with its fan base, but the huge numbers testing out and staying in the open beta could be the biggest sign yet thatBattlefieldas a series is really back at the top of the FPS tree.
