The Accountantwas a success in theaters back in 2016, butthe film showed great strength on streaming in subsequent years, which is a large part of why a sequel got made. This new installment, then, could be following in the first movie’s footsteps.

The sequel was made on an estimated budget of $80 million, a bump up from the original’s $44 million budget.The film could have been looking at a break-even point of $200 million, a goal it clearly fell far short of at a $102 million worldwide gross.
