Video games and Fox might not seem like they go hand in hand, but at one point Fox did have a video game publisher. It was called Fox Interactive and from 1994 to 2003, various games based on 20th Century Fox Properties were created and distributed under its label.

Fox Interactive had mixed results regarding their game titles' success. Certain titles did poorly and others faded into obscurity, only known by truly dedicated fans and those versed in video game history. But they also had a few titles that did really well.

The vampire series to watch in the 90s wasBuffy the Vampire Slayer. The success of the series that combined different genres like supernatural, comedy, action, and drama created a legacy in pop culture and has led to many different tie-in media like comics, novels, animated series, and games.

One of the bestBuffy the Vampire Slayergames is the one that was released on the Xbox in 2002. The game’s plot falls in line with the time of season 1 and has Buffy and her friends try to stop a plot to resurrect the Master.

7The X-Files Game

The X-Filesis another franchise that has made a legacy for itself in pop culture. There have been five video games created for the franchise, andThe X-Files Gameis one of the best ones. Made in 1998,The X-Files Gamewas made for the PC and PlayStation. It’s a point-and-click, interactive movie game where players take on the role of FBI agent Craig Wilmore as he’s tasked with investigating the disappearance of Mulder and Scully.

It takesplace sometime in the third seasonand many of the show’s actors reprise their roles. Choices made by the player affect the actions of other characters and ultimately the outcome of the game. There are three different paths players can set Wilmore on, with one leading to his death.

6The Simpsons: Hit & Run

Even people who aren’t into animated series are aware of whatThe Simpsonsis. It’s an action-adventure game that is inspired by theGrand Theft Autoseries. Players can freely explore the town of Springfield with its open-world maps as they complete missions. Players have the ability to both steal cars or hitchhike with game-controlled AI drivers to move around town.

5Aliens Versus Predator 2

Mostsci-fi enthusiasts will be familiar with either theAlienfranchise, thePredatorfranchise, or the crossoverAlien vs Predatorfranchise. The alien races of the Xenomorphs and the Yautja have been a detriment to the human race in several movies, comics, and even games. After the success of the first gameAliens Versus Predator,Aliens Versus Predator 2became even more successful than its predecessor. Players can choose between three different characters that have their own unique objects, weapons, and abilities.

Each unique campaign is related to one another and takes place simultaneously, though none of the characters engage in combat. Players can choose to play as a human Colonial Marine, an Alien, or a Predator. The game used to have several multiplayer modes that included a “Hunt” mode with two teams of players. One team becomes the “hunters” and gained points by how many kills they acquired, while the other team became the ‘prey’ that became hunters if they killed a member of the opposing team.

4Die Hard Trilogy

People might argue whetherDie Hardcan be considered a Christmas movie, but no one can deny that it is an iconic action film series. It stars Bruce Willis as John McClane, a reluctant hero who always seems to be the only one who can save the day.Die Hardhas several video games that range from first-person shooters, beat ‘em ups and even driving games. And the best game out of all of them isDie Hard Trilogy.

TheDie Hard Trilogygame is three games in one, and each game is based on one of the first three movies.Die Hardis a third-person shooter taking place during the first movie.Die Hard 2: Die Hardertakes place during the second movie and is a rail-shooter. 3Alien Trilogy

Alien Trilogywas released in 1996, and it was one of the first games to show off the motion capture capabilities of Acclaim Entertainment. It was made for the Sega Saturn, MS-DOS, and PlayStation. Players took on the role of the iconic Ellen Ripley in this first-person shooter.

Alien Trilogyis based loosely on the first three movies of the franchise. Players faced off against dog aliens, facehuggers, chestbusters, and more as they fought through the game’s 30 levels and 3 Queen alien bosses.

2NBA Basketball 2000

Most of Fox Interactive’s games were based on television shows or movies from 20th Century Fox. But, there were a handful of sports came created by them, though only a few became successes. Fox Sport’sNBA Basketball 2000is one of those few successes.

While it isn’t exactly up to par with EA’sNBA Liveseries of games,it is a good game for a casual sports player. The PlayStation version had solid visuals and included the usual gameplay mechanics expected of a basketball game; roster management, and the stats of each player and each team.

1Actua Golf 2

Actua Golf 2, or as it was known in North AmericaFox Sports Golf ‘99, doesn’tstand up to other golfing gameslike thePGA Tourseries, but it does have its own charm and is a decent game for what it is.

Though that only applies to the PC version and not the PlayStation version. The PC version has eight golf courses, and three of them are modeled after real courses.
