Last week,Call of Duty: Black Ops 4received a sizable update that made some big changes to the game, particularly in regards to the Blackout battle royale mode. In addition to adding zombies to Blackout’s Nuketown Island, last week’sCall of Duty: Black Ops 4update also introduced some new playable characters for players to unlock, including Alex Mason, the main character of the originalBlack Opsgame.

Unlocking Mason inBlack Ops 4’s Blackout battle royale mode is no easy task, and he is arguably one of the toughest characters for players to get in the game. Part of the reason why is because players first have tounlock Reznovbefore they can even worry about Mason’s challenges.

After unlocking Reznov,Black Ops 4players will want to make sure he is their selected character in Blackout, and then play a match. They then have to find Mason’s Stained White T-Shirt, which can be found in random supply crates around the map. Once the t-shirt has been collected, the next step is to “wake the sleeper agent,” which may confuse some players, and understandably so.

To wake the sleeper agent in Blackout,Black Ops 4players need to travel to Array. In the center building at Array, there is a console with a blinking green light, and while no prompt will appear, it’s possible to interact with it by holding in the X/Square button (depending on platform of choice). The next step will possibly be the most difficult part of unlocking Mason, but at least it’s the final part.

The last step to unlock Mason inBlack Ops 4’sBlackout battle royale modewill change depending on if players are in Solos, Duos, or Quads. In Solos, they will have to finish the match in the top three. In Duos, players will have to finish the match in the top two. And finally, those playing in Quads will have to win a match, which is easier said than done.

However, with enough patience,Black Ops 4players should unlock Mason in the game eventually.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
