An X user claimed there was originally an Affleck voice cameo as Batman inBlue Beetle. According to the user, the cameo was “purely comedic.” However, the user claimed Gunn cut the cameo because it would have placed the film in “batfleck continuity.”Gunndenied this rumor by replying to the post, saying, “I’ve never heard of a Ben Affleck voice cameo in Beetle, nor has Peter, much less cut one.”

If there was a cameo, it would make sense for Gunn to cut it like he did forThe FlashandAquaman 2. There’s currently a lot of confusion about where the Blue Beetle film stands concerning the DCEU or the DCU. Gunn stated Blue Beetle would be the first DCU hero, but theBlue Beetlefilm would not be a DCU film.
