Borderlands2’s latest DLC,Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary, allows players to take on a new raid boss, grind for new rainbow rarity weapons and items, check out new Easter eggs, and return to the world of Pandora for a new adventure prior to the release ofBorderlands 3.What’s more, this has all been available for free so far, but it appears that this new DLC will not be free for much longer.

The Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary DLC was designed to bridge the 7-year gap inBorderlandscontent and give a little filler for the events betweenBorderlands 2andBorderlands 3. It’s a solid DLC for all fans of the franchise to pick up, but, with it being free, many may not have been in a rush. However, with this free period coming to an end, anyone who has been putting it off will want to get this DLC downloaded ASAP.

It will stop being free at 12 AM PT/3AM ET on June 07, 2025, meaning those who have yet to download it will only have until the end of this weekend to do so for free. Once it is no longer free,Borderlands 2players will have to pay $14.99 to get the content included in the Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary DLC, such as the rainbow weapons.

The rainbow rarity weapons and items, which leaked a few months beforehand, are perhaps one of the biggest additions included in this DLC. This new weapon tier is above even the pearlescent weapons in rarity and includes the Toothpick, the Easy Mode shield, andthe Unicornsplosion Shotgun, with the latter being a rainbow weapon that fires miniature Butt Stallions that explode on impact.

All of this should be incentive enough for anyBorderlandsfan to check out the latest DLC, especially in preparation for the forthcomingBorderlands 3, which may not have rainbow rarity at launch.  As such, those who want to check out the unique peculiarities of these weapons will want to verify they download the DLC quickly, or they will have to pay $14.99 to do so later.

Borderlands 2is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
