In September, tons ofBorderlandsfans are going to dive intoBorderlands 3and check out its array of over 1 billion guns. Before that, though, many are preparing for the upcoming release by playing throughBorderlands: Game of the Year Editionor theBorderlands Handsome Collection(with a free 4K update), but now it seems that there may be yet another way to prepare for the upcoming threequel to the “original looter shooter.”
Xbox users can now download a free and instantly recognizableBorderlandsbandit mask for their avatars to sport. It’s worth mentioning that though it is dubbed the bandit mask, it is based on the in-game Psycho’s mask and not the generic bandits found in the series. The mask matches nicely with theBorderlands 3box artas well.
To unlock this limited-time Avatar item,Borderlandsplayers will want to navigate to the Microsoft Store on their Xbox, check out the Avatar items, and quickly download it. Alternatively, it can be downloaded to anXbox account via this link here. Beyond accessing this bandit mask, there are a few other ways to celebrate the Mayhem that is coming withBorderlands 3.
Those who pre-order the threequel from any major retailer, for example, will get a special golden weapons skin pack that will allowBorderlands 3players to take on the Calypso Twins with an array of golden weaponry. This bonus applies to whatever editions players pre-order, with these special releases including a Deluxe Edition, a Super Deluxe Edition, and a Diamond Loot Chest Collector’s Edition.
While we are officially on the road toBorderlands 3, that’s not to say that everyone is happy. WithBorderlands 3releasing for the first six months as an Epic Store exclusive, the PC community has expressed its concerns by review bombing the first two titles on Steam. This solicited a response fromGearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, though it may not have been exactly what the community wanted to hear. And while some are deciding to get it on console, on the Epic Store, or waiting for it to release on Steam,Borderlands 3will be here before long.
Borderlands 3is set to release on September 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
