Now is an exciting time for fans ofSuper Smash Bros Ultimate, and not just for the obvious reasons one would expect. While the new fighters Pyra & Mythra fromXenoblade Chronicles 2are coming soon, Nintendo has also confirmed thatBravely Default 2spirits are coming to the game.

The official Japanese Twitter account forSuper Smash Bros. Ultimateconfirmed these spirits will be available on February 26th, 2021, the exact sameday thatBravely Default 2releases. Starting then, players will be able to encounter these on the Spirit Board and partake in a battle to unlock the artwork. If this event is anything like the previous few, these spirits will only be available for a limited time, but will eventually be permanently available through the in-game shop.

The official image may show four different characters, but the accompanying description clarifies that this event will only add two spirits. This means that each spirit will contain two characters; Seth & Gloria for one, and Adelle & Elvis for the other. This is a similar format to theOctopath Travelerspirit event from last year, a fitting match consideringtheOctopathdevelopment team created the first twoBravely Defaultgames.

Following Tweets show that Seth & Gloria are a 3-Star “Ace” spirit in the Blue/Defense class. Their spirit battle will be against Mii Swordfighter and Zelda on the Delfino Plaza stage. The Adelle & Elvis spirit has not been shown in detail yet, but based off their designs, one can predict that Palutena and Robin may represent this pair.

Spirit announcements are often exciting and deflating at the same time for certain fans. A game likeBravely Default 2being represented at all is still a plus, but the inclusion of these spirits likely signifies that these characters will not be added as playable. This notably happened toAge of Calamity’s Impaduring the previous spirit event. Despite the possible disappointment from some, these spirits are still a fun inclusion that giveBravelyfans another thing to look forward to this week.
