Bungie, the studio behindDestiny 2, has officially responded to an accusation of false advertising and has begun rectifying the errors. Bungie Store has long been the one-stop shop for custom official merchandise and an additional avenue for players to show their support for the games they feel passionate about. However, recent incidents reported by disgruntled customers have raised serious concerns over the studio-operated digital storefront asBungie deals with ongoingDestiny 2issues.
Since its inception, the Bungie Store and its many offerings have been quite popular among fans. The digital storefront functions in sync with in-game progression, allowing players to reap special rewards such as unique raid jackets or custom-made pins by completing specific in-game challenges, such asclearing a newly releasedDestiny 2raid or dungeon in the initial launch window.

Players such as Lonecard19, however, have found out that items advertised in pictures can sometimes be misleading. In a post to the officialDestinysubreddit, Lonecard19 explained how the Trials of Osiris-themed sweatshirt ordered from the Bungie Store looked nothing like the pictures on the storefront. The user explained that while the official photo showcased a sweatshirt with patterned sleeves in the Trials-specific golden hue, the received product only sports several symbols of theDestiny 2game mode and no other decorations. Bungie, via the official Destiny2Team Reddit account, responded in the comment section that the studio is contacting the affected customers, offering them full refunds and discount codes for future purchases.
However, the prompt acknowledgment and subsequent corrective actions prove Bungie’s dedication to maintaining transparency with its fans. As the studio prepares to launch amassive mid-Season 21 patch forDestiny 2and the much-awaited Solstice of Heroes event, players can hope for a better future for the game they have come to love.
Destiny 2is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
