Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, like mostCall of Dutygames preceding it, allows players to customize their loadouts in multiplayer to find the right combination that fits their playstyle. Sometimes players can manipulate these loadouts to give themselves a significant advantage over the competition, andCall of Duty: Modern Warfareis no exception. One player has put together a particularly overpoweredCall of Duty: Modern Warfareloadout that he admits is “toxic,” but it may very well be the best loadout in the game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfareplayer Ian shared this “toxic” loadout on the social media app TikTok, where he goes by the username realtemec. To make this class, players need to equip the 725 shotgun and the Riot Shield for their primary and secondary weapons, respectively. For perks, players will want to useOverkill, High Alert, and Battle Hardened. Players then need to equip a claymore in their Lethal slot, and Gas Grenade as their Tactical weapon.

The725 shotgun inCall of Duty: Modern Warfareis notoriously overpowered, with a much longer range than shotguns in many other video games. Players have been able to get kills using the 725 shotgun at a distance that would usually require a sniper rifle, so using it definitely gives players an advantage in the game. The Riot Shield provides protection from behind when not being used, and a ton of defense from the front when it’s out. In fact, many players seem to be at a loss when coming across someone that has a Riot Shield in front of them, with their only course of action to throw grenades or lay claymores on the ground, if they even have any available.

Meanwhile, claymores inCall of Duty: Modern Warfareare also notoriously powerful, especially compared to how they worked in previousCall of Dutygames. Claymores let players booby-trap entrances that enemies could use to sneak up on them, and they tend to kill their targets more often than not. Infinity Ward has already addressed claymores somewhat, withCall of Duty: Modern Warfarepatch 1.06giving them a slight nerf by making it so stun grenades disable them for a few seconds.

The gas grenade rounds out this “toxic"Call of Duty: Modern Warfareloadoutby limiting enemy movement. The perks players may be able to play with a bit if they’d rather have something else equipped, but Overkill will be necessary for players to have both the 725 shotgun and Riot Shield equipped at the same time.

Moving forward, it’s likely thatInfinity Wardwill address some of the more overpoweredCall of Duty: Modern Warfareweapons, particularly the 725 shotgun. If Infinity Ward does release a 725 shotgun nerf, it will make this loadout much less effective. But other balance changes that come in futureCall of Duty: Modern Warfareupdates could in turn make other weapons more powerful, allowing fans like realtemec to come up with new overpowered loadouts.
