Comparing Clank And Kit’s Character Designs
Right out the gate,Ratchet and Clankfansshould notice that the faces for Clank and Kit are almost the exact same. The pair both have large circular eyes, with Clank’s colored green and Kit’s being blue. They share the same kind of mouth slit as well, with their jaws moving in a similar way when talking. They also are both held in the same way, with Ratchet or Rivet throwing them on their backs to carry them around.
There are just as many differences, though, and gamers have plenty of time to get used to them duringRatchet and Clank: Rift Apart’s story. One of these is that Kit lacks Clank’s antenna, flicking it when the two characters first meet each other. In its place are two lightbulb-like balls that resemble hair buns, a fun touch that makes Kit look a bit more feminine. Alongside the obvious yellow color, she has three lights on her chest, giving her a more complex body design than Clank’s. Finally, she keeps both her arms and legs in the game, ensuring that she looks a bit less stumpy than her ally.

Comparing Clank And Kit’s Personalities
IfRatchet and Clankfans want to see where the pair really differs, though, looking at their personalities is the way to go. Kit lacks Clank’s dry sense of humor, avoiding jokes throughout the course of the game. On the rare occasions where she does let out a laugh, it lacks the unique sound heard in Clank’s. Given how scarred she is due the time she spentserving under Emperor Nefarious, this overly serious attitude makes sense.
Clank is also far more confident in himself, something that is shown clearly in the moment where he tricks The Fixer. While he does still worry at times, he does so in a normal manner. Kit, on the other hand, is too damaged to trust herself. Going into hiding after she removed Rivet’s arm, Kit considers herself unworthy of friendship. While she ultimately overcomes this character flaw, anda spinoff with her and Rivetnow seems likely, she lacks confidence in herself for a majority of the game. As such, it is great to see her overcome her fears in the story’s final moments.
The last difference is an obvious one, and it is seen with Kit’s mech form. Able to gun down foes with ease, she is far more of a fighter than Clank. While he did take on a mech form in theolderRatchet and Clankgames, he is purely used for puzzle solving in this sequel. As for their similarities, both robots are incredibly smart and serve as important allies to the Lombaxes. They also have a similar manner of speaking, furthering the connection between the two. With Kit finally learning that she is a force for good, perhaps she could develop more Clank-like mannerisms in future games. This could range from a similar sense of humor to a high level of trust with Rivet, with the pair’s bond possibly rivaling the one between Clank and Ratchet. InRatchet and Clank: Rift Apart, though, Kit’s attitude is very different from Clank’s.
