Since it exploded onto the scene last year,Controlhas captured the imaginations of players who have given it a try. Theprevious discount ofControlon consoleswas no doubt a boon for many who had not heard of the game before it swept through several awards, and with the game in more hands than ever, the time is right for its first expansion.
The tale thatControlspins is by no means a simple one, and there is certainly a lot to go through in the game, with even more being added in its upcomingFoundationDLC.

The events ofControlare mind-bending and multi-faceted enough that players may want to look at aquick recap of the storybefore diving into the new DLC. Anyone who has beaten the game more recently, however, now has something more concrete to look forward to than a release date, as the first gameplay trailer for Foundation has now dropped.
The trailer itself shows new subterranean spaces to explore alongside the gravity-defying stunts and props that players will be accustomed to at this point. Wide open white space also makes up some of the new levels, giving the levels an unfinished, unreal feel, which is probably the point.
The story revolves around the underground layer of the Oldest House, called the Foundation, and some extensive damage that it has recently received. An important device/structure referred to as the Monolith has apparently been damaged, and the Astral Plane, sometimes called the space between spaces, has begun to leak into the physical world. Needless to say, it needs to be stopped, and withthe release date forControl’s DLCjust a little ways off, players will get the chance to do so soon.
That said, Xbox players will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on it, as theFoundation DLC will release for PS4 and PC this month, and Xbox in June.
More story will likely be appreciated by fans ofControl, since its last update featured a new mode, but not any new story content. There’s a real possibility thatControlcould pave the way for more psychedelic shooters, which would scratch a new itch it has awakened in players.
Controlis available for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. Foundation will be available for PS4 and PC on March 26, and Xbox One on June 25.
