Crunchyroll has always dominated anime, and soon, that’s going to include the movies, as well. Crunchyroll has brought plenty of movies to Western theaters in the past, but it’s about to go much further with it than before, asCrunchyroll announced at San Diego Comic-Con a plan for a monthly movie program called “Crunchyroll Anime Nights”, and that’s something everyone can be excited about.

What To Expect From Crunchyroll Anime Nights

Crunchyroll’s New Theatrical Program Explained

According to Crunchyroll’s Comic-Con panel, the third Monday of every month will see the release of a different theatrical program by Crunchyroll; for what’s already been announced, October will see the premiere of theMiss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maidmovie, November a theatrical cut of the first seven episodes ofOverlordfor its 10th anniversary, and December a sneak peek at shows airing in 2026.

The obvious problem with Crunchyroll Anime Nights, however, is that the programs are currently projected to run for only a single day, which severely limits the opportunities people have to see everything. That can be fixed by either expanding the calendars or simply having a lot of showtimes each day, and hopefully, more information about that will be announced soon.
