In a way,Doomsday Clockwas a full-circle moment for DC andWatchmen.Moore’s story was originally pitched using DC-owned characters, before evolving into a stand-alone series, one that changed the landscape of the superhero genre forever. Thirty years later, the integration of Moore’s characters into the DC Universe was ambitious, but received mixed reactions from readers.

While the namedrop of Project Supermen doesn’t portent a wholesale return of theDoomsday Clockarc into DC continuity, it does display thattrusted DC Comics author Mark Waid recognized something of value for the earlier series, and plucked it out to use in his consolidated history of the DC Universe.
