Up against dozens of powerhouse heroes, Superman needs the original Legion to help beat back Darkseid’s version, especially since the villain is planning a lethal invasion of DC’s main universe.
The Legion have always been there for Superman, traveling back in time to recruit him as a teen because they couldn’t resist bringing such an iconic hero into their ranks. Superman’s son Jon later joined the Legion and struck up a romance with Saturn Girl.Even before the Justice League, the Legion of Super-Heroes were Superman’s closest allies, so it makes sense that their apparent destruction is hitting him so hard.
With heroes who control magnetism and electricity, members who can split into three or grow to a gigantic size, and thesmartest man in DC continuity, the Legion of Super-Heroes have often represented what superheroism can become in a world where heroes like Superman truly change the world for the better.
