While the cancelation is disappointing, it is not too surprising. The majority ofshows that Paramount+ renews are usually based on popular IP or come from Taylor Sheridan.Happy Facedid not fall into either of these categories, and without being a streaming hit or being received particularly well by critics and general audiences, the decision was made to cancel.
TheHappy Faceseason 1 finaledid set up a potential season 2, so there were definitely plans to continue the tense story. Unfortunately, those plans have been cut prematurely short after Paramount+’s decision, which nowmakes theHappy Faceseason 1 finale a conclusion for the entire series.
