Just a day away from the return of fan-favorite exotic The Last Word toDestiny 2, developer Bungie is teasing Thorn’s comeback to the game in the coming months as a part of Season 6. In a new trailer released forThe Last Word’s upcoming “The Draw” questas part of the Annual Pass content, the last shot shows that The Season of the Drifter will bring the yang to The Last Word’s ying—the exotic hand cannon, Thorn.
It has long been rumored that Thorn would return inDestiny 2as part of Season of the Drifter because of the lore and story implications related to The Drifter and his ties to Dredgen Yor, the original owner of the Thorn exotic. While the trailer does not outright show the Thorn itself, the unmistakable spike rounds that Thorn shoots make it completely clear that it’s coming, not to mention the fact that the Thorn has always been tied inDestiny’s lore to The Last Word.

Players will have to wait untilDestiny 2’s next season to find out more about how they will get their hands on Thorn but there are two exotic quests planned for Season 6. One will be free to allDestiny 2players as part of a content update and one will be part of the game’s Annual Pass.
It will interesting to see how Bungie handles the return of Thorn inDestiny 2.Thorn was one of the most powerful guns inDestiny 1for quite a while, which led to it being heavily nerfed and therefore falling out of use by most players, so balancing the weapon forDestiny 2will definitely be a point of interest for longtime fans. The Last Word got a slightly different exotic perk than the originalDestiny 1version, so an overhaul to the weapon is possible.
The start date ofThe Season of the Drifteris unknown, but it is rumored and likely to begin in early March 2019.
Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
