Destiny 2fans may have a better idea of what to expect from the “new raid content” coming in the game’s first expansion, Curse of Osiris. OneDestiny 2developer replied to a fan on Twitter hinting that players will find new content behind the doors inside the Leviathan raid come December.
The tweet came from Brendan Thorne, a senior game designer who works onDestiny 2’s raids. He responded to a tweet from a fan suggesting that Bungie should allow players to see behind some of the locked doors withinthe Leviathan raid, to which Thorne responded, “Funny you should say that.”

That’s significant because whenDestiny 2’s first expansion, Curse of Osiris, was announced and detailed just a few weeks ago, publisher Activision told fans they could expect"new raid content"in Curse of Osiris. Both Bungie and Activision have been careful not to say that the DLC will add an entirely new raid to the game, which has left fans theorizing what exactly “new raid content” means.
One popular theory has been that if Bungie is not ready to add in an entirely new raid with a new location, enemies, and bosses, a possibility would be to somehow expand the existing Leviathan raid. Based on this tease from Thorne, it is looking like that could very well be the direction Bungie will take with this content.
Bungie is almost sure to address that content more duringone of its streamsthis month, which will detail more about the upcoming Curse of Osiris expansion. Whatever the new raid content ends up being, it’s unlikely to be available right at launch considering that the level and power caps will both be increased with the release of Curse of Osiris. Based on the history ofDestiny, it would likely release three days to a week after the launch of Curse of Osiris on August 11, 2025.
Destiny 2is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
