TheDestiny 2raid is supposed to be hard, the highest mountain Bungie can offer players to climb. The Leviathan raid lair is no different, as can be seen by a recommended team of six all with light levels of 300. Yet despite this,Destiny 2players are always looking for a challenge and one fireteam definitely takes it to new heights, defeating the Eater of Worlds boss with only two Guardians.
Having previouslydefeated Argos with a three person fireteammere days after the raid lair had opened, it appears the members of Clan Redeem are determined to hold on to their place as the best in the business and complete yet another feat no other fireteam had accomplished. The impressive display can be seen in the video below.
While it was all but inevitable that a 2-man run was coming, it was still not easy to achieve. In a Reddit post released alongside the video, laying out their strategy for the encounter, the team discussed howthe new addition of masterworks armorand raid armor perks made the attempt feasible. Seeing as how masterworks armor now comes with the perk of added resistance while in super it went a long way to help keep the team alive when one of several things could destroy the team instantly.
The other main problem for the team to overcome was DPS against an enemy with around 13 million health, which is where theraid armor perkscome in. The perks used in the run called Emperors Blaze and Striking Hand grant 25% damage increase on solar abilities and 20% damage bump overall respectively. Stacked together, these perks give the Guardians a 45% damage increase against Argos and his minions.
When all is said and done it can’t really be understated how difficult a feat this was. Defeating Argos with a full fireteam is supposed to be one of the hardest missions Destiny 2 has to offer so running a team of two through to the finish line requires an extreme level of expertise and communication. The only question remaining is what willDestiny 2players do next?
