Destiny 2: Forsakenis officially one week away and Guardians are gearing up to take on Uldren Sov and the Scorn Barons. Following a delay out of respect for theJacksonville shooting, Bungie released a new launch trailer for Forsaken and it contains a feature that fans have been begging for since the launch of the game. It seems that Bungie has listened to the pleas of the fanbase and has given the Guardian a voice again, which was missing from the base game and the first two expansions.

This new trailer sets the tone for what players can expect fromDestiny 2’s next big expansion, including some interesting story teasers. This trailer shows how the remaining two Vanguard leaders cope with the news of Cayde’s death. Zavala wants to protect the City in order to not lose any more friends, while Ikora Rey is on the side of avenging Cayde’s death – much like most fans were after learning of Cayde-6’s fate. It is in this moment that the Guardian speaks for the first time inDestiny 2.

Hopefully this means that the Guardian will be fully voiced in this DLC, so there will be less awkward pauses and other characters speaking on the player’s behalf. It is not currently known how much the Guardian will be voiced, or if their voice will be retroactively added to earlier content.

Fans also get a new glimpse at Uldren Sov and his motives in this trailer. Fans see the Awoken Prince commanding his Barons and sewing the seeds of chaos across the system. Curiously, it seems that Uldren is after the shard of the Traveler for some reason, perhaps to give himself more power. It also picks up where theCayde’s Last Stand trailerends, showing Cayde’s final moments at the hands of Uldren.

All of this comes ahead of the pre-Forsaken update, which will change the weapon system in preparation for the massive DLC. Downtime is expected for today’s update, so players will have to wait a bit before trying out the new changes. This weekend, everyDestiny 2owner will get totry out Gambit for freeahead of Forsaken’s launch, giving fans something fun to look forward to while waiting to take Uldren Sov down.
