With theopening of the Izanami Forgeon Nessus,Destiny 2players are one step closer to unravelling the secrets of the Mysterious Box quest. Much like the other two forges, the Izanami Forge drops a special key that will progress the Mysterious Box quest one step further. To get the Butterfly Key for the Mysterious Box, players will need to keep a keen eye out during the Forge activity and shoot down a couple drones to ensure that the Butterfly Key drops.
Destiny 2players will find the hovering drones at the start of round two of the forge. One drone will spawn at each of the two floating islands to the left and right of the Izanami Forge. These small drones are the same ones that can be found around Forge Saboteurs during patrol. The drones will be hovering around a metallic spire on each of the islands and will need to be shot down to gain the Maximum Temper buff. Once players shoot down the drones, they will need to clear the round to gain access to the chest at the end, which will reward them with the Butterfly Key.
If players have not found the Mysterious Box yet, they should definitely go and do that first. When players reach the starting area for the Volundr Forge they should drop down to the left and find a hidden chest containing the Mysterious Box. Each of the forges holds a key needed to crack open this box, so players should start with Volundr to getthe Fishhook Key.
While players do not yet know what the reward will be for completing this drawn-out quest, it will likely be an exotic weapon – and a powerful one at that if it’s from the Black Armory. Several new exotics were shown off in theAnnual Pass ViDoc. Le Monarque, the exotic bow, drops from the forges now, so fans are hoping that the Mysterious Box rewards a new exotic that has yet to be shown. For now, players will simply have to wait until January 8 when the final forge opens up.
