Destiny 2’s Warmind expansion launches in a week, and with the new expansion comes a new raid lair for players to tackle after finishing the campaign. Bungie announced today thatDestiny 2’s next raid lair, Spire of Stars, launches Friday, May 11, at 10 a.m. PST, three days after the release of Warmind.
Judging by the image accompanying the announcement, it seems that Spire of Stars may be referring to the spire atop the Leviathan. Players can see the tall spire in-game, and see the cluster of stars that rotates around the highest point of the massive ship. While this is mere speculation, the image clearly shows the top of the Leviathan. Perhaps players will get to see a bit more of the area once they reach thenew level cap in Warmind.

Earlier this week, someDestiny 2concept art came out showing thepossible weapon drops for Spire of Stars. The new weapons match the aesthetic of the other Leviathan weapons, but we have yet to see what the new armor will look like.
Players can expect more powerful rewards from Spire of Stars, and the other raids as well, as all raid rewards will drop athigher power levelsto help players level up to the new max power level in-game. The process is a bit longer in Warmind than players are used to, but some will appreciate the lengthy power grind.
Outside of the raid, players can earn high level loot during the new horde-mode activity dubbed Escalation Protocol. The new end-game activity takes place in the Mars patrol area, and can have up to six players participating. The new mode was showed off during theWarmind reveal stream, and features its own loot pool – all Warmind-themed.
The raid may pose more of a challenge than the previous ones, considering that it will take longer to hit max power level. Hopefully Spire of Stars is fun enough to keep players coming back until they reach the power cap.
