Though, this new update forDoom Eternalhad a lot riding on it. Giving howpoorly received the first update to the game was, the developers really wanted to give themselves the chance to improve upon the game in a positive way. This update more than achieves that goal.
The second update includes a brand new multiplayer map called Torment, which will also feature an increase in the “Empowered Enemies” that were featured in the first update. Both of these additions will be sure to makeDoom Eternal’smultiplayermore dynamic.
In addition to the new multiplayer map, the update also includes a lot of fixes that help to improve the quality of life in terms of gameplay. This includes the latency issues in Battlemode and some improvements to the UI and menus, not to mention a new feature for taking screenshots called “Render Modes.” Players can now play the game in black and white, gritty, cinematic, andDoom classic.
It’s nice to see that both Id Software and Bethesda continue to remain reactive when it comes to providing players with new content to enjoy. Though, there still has not been any official news regardingDLC forDoom Eternal. There wasn’t really any extensive DLC forDoom (2016), but the director of the game has stated previously that a DLC campaign forDoom Eternalis entirely possible. It remains to be seen when players will see any DLC come fromDoom Eternal, but for now, players can enjoy the slew of content featured in the second update.
