BioWare’sDragon Agehad been silent for a few years ever since the release ofDragon Age Inquisitionback in 2014. Now, BioWare has teased thatDragon Age 4is on the wayduring The Game Awards 2018, and Executive Producer Mark Darrah says that he has assembled a new team to work on the project.

Darrah explained in BioWare’s official blog thatDragon Ageand BioWare veterans will be at the forefront of the core team that will be working on the upcoming game. “While we won’t be sharing any details, for now, I can tell you we have been building a new team around a core ofDragon Ageveterans, people I’ve worked with onDragon Age,Jade Empire, and some of whom I’ve worked with since theBaldur’s Gatedays,” Darrah explained.

While the post did not specify names, it is interesting to learn about which developers will be included in the newDragon Ageteam, especially after David Gaider and Mike Laidlaw exited BioWare after years of service. Gaider joined BioWare back in 1999 and left the studio in 2016. Laidlaw, on the other hand, was BioWare’s long-time creative director who left the studio last year andrecently joined forces with Ubisofta few days ago.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that the development forDragon Age 4has been delayed internally, due to a restructuring in BioWare. Ever since this news broke out, people began to wonder whether BioWare still planned to continue theDragon Agefranchise. Fortunately, fans can now rest easy knowing thatInquisitionwill not be the final entry in the franchise.

As of the moment, BioWare is still tight-lipped with regards to details on the development of the upcomingDragon Agetitle. The teaser that was revealed at The Game Awards earlier did not specify any release window, which makes the rumor saying thatDragon Age 4is still three years away much more likely. Although Darrah confirmed thatDragon Ageis in active development, BioWare is still pretty much preoccupied withAnthemas of the moment, which releases in February 2019.
