Update 3/22: It has since been clarified thatMirror’s Edgeisnotbeing delisted on April 28. OnlyBattlefield 1948,Battlefield: Bad Company, andBattlefield: Bad Company 2are being delisted on that date.

Original story follows.

Unfortunately for fans of the games, EA and DICE are delisting four of their most popular games on April 28:Battlefield 1943,Battlefield: Bad Company,Battlefield: Bad Company 2, andMirror’s Edge. All four of these games earned mostly positive reviews at the time of their original release, with manyBattlefieldfans often pointing toBattlefield: Bad Company 2as one of the absolute best games in the series.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2earned critical acclaimwhen it first launched, with many praising it for its action-packed campaign and endlessly replayable online multiplayer. The game is still remembered fondly to this day, but 15 years after launch, it’s being pulled from sale on digital storefronts alongside the aforementionedBattlefield 1943,Battlefield: Bad Company, and parkour action gameMirror’s Edge- another critically-acclaimed title that’s getting delisted.

Starting April 28, it will be impossible for fans to purchase digital copies ofBattlefield 1943,Battlefield: Bad Company,Battlefield: Bad Company 2, or theoriginalMirror’s Edgegame. According to EA and DICE, this is being done in “preparation” for the retirement of the games' online services, which will take place on June 19, 2025. SinceBattlefield: Bad Company,Battlefield: Bad Company 2, andMirror’s Edgeall offer offline gameplay as well, it’s unclear why they have to be pulled from digital storefronts. Regardless, anyone that’s interested in owning these games digitally has about a month to purchase them.

EA Games Being Delisted List on April 28

In a statement on the matter, DICE said, “While these titles hold a special place in our heart, we’re now looking forward to creating new memories alongside you as we shift our focus towards our current and futureBattlefieldexperiences.” This statement is likely going to upset fans further, as DICE and EA have not really provided aBattlefield: Bad Company-equivalent for modern platforms. Rumors have persisted about apotentialBattlefield: Bad Company 3over the years, but nothing has materialized.

Not only that, but the newer entries in theBattlefieldandMirror’s Edgefranchises haven’t been nearly as well-received as the titles being delisted on April 28.Battlefield 2042’s launch was a disaster, and while things have turned around a bit, it’s safe to say many fans are eager to see DICE move on to other projects. It remains to be seen what’s next for theBattlefieldfranchise, but hopefully some kind ofBad Companyequivalent is released to make up for these games being delisted and shut down.
