Red Dead Redemption 2has only been out for a few days but has still managed to become a powerhouse like its predecessor and other Rockstar projects such asGrand Theft Auto.In fact, thereviews for the gamehave it tying with Rockstar’sGrand Theft Autoseries as some of the company’s best-reviewed games. This isn’t likely a surprise to many, but the game’s extensive and thorough list of banned words might be.
Of course, such as the case with most games,Red Dead Redemption 2prevents players from spelling certain phrases for a variety of reasons. It’s worth mentioning that some of the banned words include the company’s name and studios to prevent scams, as well as standard curse words to prevent names some might consider offensive. Even more so, Rockstar has gone out of its way with various combinations of phrases to try to prevent as much of this as possible.
Presumably, this list will also be in play wheneverRed Dead Onlinelaunches, though thanks to the Companion App, we already know afew gameplay details about the online counterpart. So, without further ado, check out the list below:
While some may joke that this looks like a CVS receipt, this thoroughness may go a long way when the online elements come into play. As others have noted, portions of this list may have been in other games, as players cannot take the name likeMax PayneDeveloper for the reasons listed above.
Nevertheless, despite the less-serious and more-humorous names on this list, it’s not likely to have much effect on the single-player element of the western title, though it does prevent players from givingtheir loyal horsea “creative” name. Still, with plenty to do, a huge map to cross, and a lengthy story,Red Dead Redemption 2has a little bit of everything for its players.
Red Dead Redemption 2is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
