Battlefield Studios is taking its time withBattlefield 6, slowly unveiling this next installment in the long-running FPS series. Alongside a wealth ofleakedBattlefield 6footagefrom theBattlefield Labs playtests, there has been a subset of rumors and information on an unconfirmed battle royale mode. This wouldn’t be the first timeBattlefieldattempted to enter the crowded genre, butBattlefield 5’s Firestorm failed to take off.
Despite theBattlefieldcommunity generally knowing a lot of disparate information aboutBF6, it’s only had one official trailer. TheBattlefield 6reveal trailerdid little more than set the tone for the campaign and promise an upcoming multiplayer reveal on July 31. That hasn’t stopped unofficial news, however, andthe battle royale mode has had some crucial information leaked since the game’s reveal.

Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Hasn’t Been Officially Revealed Yet
That Could Change Soon
At the time of writing, there has been no official word from Battlefield Studios or publisher EA on the rumored battle royale mode. All that’s been revealed through official channels is the campaign and the multiplayer, both of which are currently light on details from the developer and publisher.
Similarly, theBattlefield 6playtests have not involved the alleged battle royale mode, just the traditional multiplayer.According to leaks, the game mode is simply known as Battlefield Royale, but this is, of course, subject to change, or could simply be an in-development placeholder name.

Battle Royale Map For Battlefield 6 Already Leaked
Lyndon Beach
The most consequential bit of information known about the so-called Battlefield Royale is its potential map. ExperiencedBattlefielddata-miner and leaker, temporyal, shared an image of the supposedBF6battle royale map, which was subsequently removed from X (formerly Twitter) due to a copyright claim.

Temporyal shares a few key bits of information, the first of which is thatthe map is apparently called Lyndon Beach. The post claims “There are scattered hints of a metro system,” implying your squad can quickly travel between certain points via a train. They also revealed what they expect the map’s major and minor points of interest will be; those are as follows.
Vista Del Mar
Water Treatment
While temporyal’s map – a recreation of one they claim to have seen – has the major POIs labeled, the minor ones are simply listed. Of particular note is The Docks, which appears to be an adaptation ofBattlefield 3’s Noshar Canals, indicatingother legacy maps could be remixed into the full Lyndon Beach map. For instance, there’s speculation that the Golf Resort could have sections similar toBad Company’s Par for the Course map, but it’s difficult to tell.
The Battle Royale Mode Is Rumored To Be Free
Potentially Rectifying A Firestorm Mistake
Ever since theBattlefield 6rumor mill started up, a consistent point of emphasis has been thatthe alleged battle royale mode will be free-to-play; i.e., you won’t have to purchaseBF6itself to play the battle royale. This could indicate that it’s an entirely separate download, or that players may be able to download just the relevant portion of theBattlefield 6game client to play it.
This is a key departure fromBF5’s Firestorm, which was only available to those who bought the full game, making it difficult for the mode to compete with free-to-play counterparts likeCall of Duty: Warzone,Fortnite, andApex Legends.

Another consistently floated rumor claimsthe battle royale mode – just like Firestorm – will not launch at the same time as the base game.Battlefield 6’s leaked release datehas it dropping in early October, with rumors suggesting that Battlefield Royale will come months later, potentially in early 2026.
What We Know About Battlefield Royale’s Gameplay
You Know The Deal By Now
As a battle royale mode, Battlefield Royale’s basic premise is well-known:squads battle in an increasingly small zone until one is left standing. Other, more granular information once again comes from temporyal, who discussed the mode’s novel elements in a Reddit post.

Much of it sounds very familiar, such as in-game missions that can be completed for rewards (custom loadouts or vehicle keys), ways to unlock passive buffs, places to redeploy dead teammates, and HUD information showing where the next ring will be. Below is a list of a few choice mechanics that might help Battlefield Royale stand out:
Much like Firestorm before it,BF6’s battle royale mode will have a ring of fire known as the NXC Flamefront. It is currently unclear if Battlefield Royale will be announced and shown off at theBattlefield 6multiplayer reveal on July 31. As nothing is currently confirmed, the above information should be taken with a grain of salt.
