When video game companies are too busy to work on a certain project or idea, sometimes fans take it upon themselves to make it a reality. Such is the case with theFallout 3remake mod calledCapital Wasteland, which is being put together by the Road to Liberty mod team. The Road to Liberty mod team has since released a new trailer for the project, which shows offFallout 3’s improved visuals in theFallout 4Creation Engine.
TheFallout 3remake consists of a completely rebuilt Capital Wasteland, and will feature every quest, line of dialogue, and location reworked intoFallout 4’s Creation Engine. Road to Liberty’s goal is to update theFallout 3experience to modern standards, and if the first trailer is any indication, it seems like the team will do just that.

Once the Road to Liberty team is finished with theFallout 3remake mode, they plan on turning their attention to the game’s expansion packs. That means those that decide to download the mod should be able to look forward to remade takes onOperation Anchorage,The Pitt,Broken Steel,Point Lookout, andMothership Zetaat some point down the line.
Of course, that will entail a lot more work on top of all the hours the team is putting in to remake the gargantuan base game. However, there’s a chance the team could be compensated for their efforts. It’s possible that the Road to Liberty team will benefit from thenew donation systembeing implemented by Nexus Mods later this year that gives fans the opportunity to donate money to modders if they so wish.
Regardless of if the team makes any money from the mod, though, at least their hard work will likely be enjoyed by many people. After all,Fallout 3is often consideredone of the best open world gamesof all time, and this remake gives fans the perfect reason to return to the Capital Wasteland yet again.
Fallout 3is available now for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
