It won’t be long now before select gaming fans who pre-orderedFallout 76for Xbox One in North America will be able to take part intomorrow’s stress testfor the title, and now it looks as if Bethesda wants to give them a better idea of the enormity of the game’s environment beforehand. Today, the publisher and developer decided to provide fans with the forthcoming post-apocalyptic multiplayer action-RPG’s full map.
As seen below, instead of the standard green-on-black color scheme befitting a Pip-Boy screen, Bethesda’s map forFallout 76is rendered in full color so as to give potential players a clearer picture of the area that they will be exploring. Not to mention, the studio has touted that the upcoming multi-platform release’s map is going to be much bigger than series predecessors, as the total explorable area is supposed to be four times larger thanFallout 4’s map.
There’s no doubt that tomorrow’s stress test forFallout 76is one ofthe biggest gaming events for October 2018, and it’s safe to presume that plenty of players will be consulting the map above before exploring the treacherous, albeit beautiful in-game Wastelands of West Virginia. And while the map doesn’t appear to contain any other Vaults than that of Vault 76, Bethesda has previously confirmed that other Vaults technically exist, but will be locked “for a reason”.
With Bethesda having promised thatFallout 76support will last forever, there’s a possibility that the aforementioned Vaults initially inaccessible to players could eventually open up for exploration in potential expansions. Should this come to fruition, perhaps the Vaults other than Vault 76 will then show up as actual locations on the map in the future, but we will simply have to wait and see what Bethesda has in store forFallout 76’s post-launch plans later on down the line.
Fallout 76is set to launch on Jul 10, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
