Fire Forcemangaka Atsushi Ohkubo revealed that theseries will come to an endin “a few” chapters. Ohkubo made the announcement on his December 31 Dark Soulslive stream, confirming that the manga will end in around two volumes.

The popular manga series entered its final arc in October 2021. Ohkubo first hinted at the series coming to an end in May 2020, stating that the manga was in its final stage and thatFire Forcewould serve as his final manga series.

Fire Forcebegan serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2015, amassing 32 collected volumes throughout its run so far. The hit serieshas over 17 million copies in circulationworldwide, with the 32nd volume having shipped in Japan on December 17.

A 49-episodeanime adaptation animated by David Productionran from 2019-2020. Yuki Yase (Monogatari Series Second Season,Mekakucity Actors) directed the first half of the series, with Tatsuma Minamikawa (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind,Gintama) taking over for the last half. Kenichiro Suehiro (Re:Zero, Goblin Slayer) worked as the series composer, with character designs by Hideyuki Morioka (Kizumonogatari, D.Gray-man).

Ohkubo’s previous series,Soul Eater,ran in Square Enix’s Monthly Shōnen Gangan magazine from 2004-2013, amassing 25 collected volumes throughout its run. The series inspired a handful of game adaptations, a spin-off manga, and an anime from Studio Bones. The 51-episode anime ran from 2006-2009, with Takuya Igarashi (Sailor Moon Sailor Stars,Bungo Stray Dogs)directing the series.

TheSoul Eater Not!spin-off manga ran in the Monthly Shōnen Gangan magazine from 2011-2014 and inspired a 12-episode anime adaptation from Studio Bones. Masakazu Hashimoto (Fullmetal Alchemist,Crayon Shin-chan) directed and wrote the series.

Kodansha USA licenses theFire Forcemanga in English, with Funimation licensing the anime adaptation. Yen Press released theSoul EaterandSoul Eater Not!manga in English, and Funimation licensed both anime adaptations.
