10Jonathan Kent

First Appearance:Convergence: Superman #2

Jon Kent is Supermanand Lois Lane’s only son and for a brief period of time, he was an incredibly beloved character. During the Rebirth era, people loved reading stories about Superman as he taught Jon how to use his Kryptonian powers. Unfortunately, love from fans cooled down when Jon was aged up several years unexpectedly.

While Jon has a good heart and even showed how capable a hero he was, filling in for his father as Superman, Jon’s struggled in the last few years. Fans appreciated him a lot more when he was a kid and, sadly, just don’t vibe with Superman’s son the way they used to.

9Power Girl

First Appearance:All Star Comics #58

To say that Power Girl has a complicated history would be underselling it. Power Girl is Supergirl’s counterpart from Earth-2 and the only member of the Superman Family to be from another universe. Over the years, she’s held a bunch of different names, such as Kara Zor-El, Karen Starr, and most recently, Paige Stetler.

Havinga complex history doesn’t make Power Girl a bad hero, of course, as she’s actually quite resilient in the face of the obstacles she’s been through. But admittedly, her complicated journey over the years has made it hard for many fans to really embrace her as a Superman Family member.

8Steel

First Appearance:The Adventures of Superman #500

John Henry Irons, aka Steel, is one of the Superman Family’s most underrated members. Unlike most heroes in this crew, his strengths don’t come from Kryptonian physiology, but rather, his impressive and innovative mind. John runs Steelworks, and he’s dedicated his life to creating tech that can better serve the world.

Steel is incredibly respected among his peers. While he doesn’t have the benefit of powers, Steel still suits up in one of the most advanced pieces of hardware on Earthto fight alongside Superman and his allies. Irons is a good hero, a good person, and just an all-around good guy.

7Superwoman

First Appearance:Superboy #10

Lana Lang was once Superman’s sweetheart back in Smallville. But in recent years, she’s come into her own as a genuine hero. Not too long ago, Lana manifested electricity powers and has been using them to keep the world safe as Superwoman, bringing her back into the fold of the Superman Family.

Lana is one of the kindest people Superman personally knows. She’s friendly to everyone she meets and when the opportunity to be a superhero presented itself, she didn’t shy away from it. Lana Lang may not have won Superman’s heart, but she’s proud to be his friend anda friend of the entire Superman Family.

6Jimmy Olsen

First Appearance:Action Comics #6

No, Jimmy Olsen doesn’t have powers, but given his close relationship with Superman, how can anyone deny he’s a member of the Superman Family? Almost as long as the Big Blue Boy Scout has been around, Jimmy has been there by his side, helping his powerful friend in whatever way he can.

Jimmy is funny, charismatic, and he’s an incredibly capable journalist (one of the few Lois Lane actually trusts). If there’s anyone who is ride or die for Superman, it’s his longtime pal. What he lacks in powers or a connection to Krypton,Jimmy more than makes up for in plain likability.

5Superboy

Who couldn’t like Superman’s half-Kryptonian, half-human clone, Conner Kent, aka Superboy. While he was brought to life to replace the Man of Steel after his fight with Doomsday,Conner isn’t just a younger and (let’s be real) cooler Superman. He’s someone who’s had to forge and discover his own identity while standing in the shadow of an icon.

Not only does Conner possess the full-range of Superman’s powers, he’s got his own special ability (that he loves bragging about). Tactile telekinesis, which he’s spent the better part of his life refining to turn him into a true powerhouse. But he never lets his abilities go to his head, andSuperboy is ultimately a friendly and incredibly cool hero.

4Supergirl

First Appearance:Action Comics #252

Supergirl had a much harder experience coming to Earth compared to her cousin. Witnessing the death of her home planet, arriving on an unfamiliar planet where her baby cousin had grown into the most powerful hero on Earth. It was a lot for Kara Zor-El, and for a while, she struggled with some pretty serious rage and impostor syndrome issues.

But despite that, Supergirl is one of the Superman Family’s kindest heroes, arguably more kind than Superman.Supergirl is friendly, empathetic and always willing to lend a handto anyone who needs it. Sure, she might struggle a bit, but no matter what Supergirl is going through, she’s always the first one to help.

3Lois Lane

First Appearance:Action Comics #1

Come on, one can’t talk about the Superman Family andnotinclude Lois Lane. She’s been around just as long as the Man of Tomorrow and is an incredibly important part of his family. Aside from a recent experience with Kryptonian powers, Lane doesn’t have any special abilities. But to be honest, she really doesn’t need them.

Lois’ best skills are her ways of interacting with people. If she’s hot on a story and thinks someone’s lying, she can be a force to be reckoned with. But for everyone else, Lois is a hard-working, leading voice in journalism andthere are few in the DC Universe who don’t respect her.

2Superman

Superman is hands-down one of the most likable heroes, period. The guy has the gifts of a god at his disposal, and he uses them to be a much-needed force for good in the DCU. But that’s not the reason people like him. It’s because he’s goodness personified and simply being around him makes otherswantto do good.

Superman is looked up to by the entire DCU. Civilians, other heroes, and even some villains admire him. No matter who Clark is talking to, he treats them with kindness and respect (even his greatest enemies). As far as heroes in the Superman Family go, it’s hard to find someone that outranks the man himself in terms of likability.

1Krypto

First Appearance:Adventure Comics #210

If the newSupermanmovie proved anything, it’s that people simply adore Krypto. Superman’s powerful canine has all of Superman’s powers, he’s got amazing tracking abilities, and he’s simply a good boy. Krypto is one of the most loyal dogs in existence, but he would protect any innocent person as fiercely as he would Superman.

Seriously, it’s hard to hate a dog. Even those who might think Krypto is a bit silly find him charming. Who could hate that funny face or his collar with a House of El shield or his little cape? Maybe it’s cheating, but Krypto is simplytoo likable for anyone else in the Superman Family to top the list.

Superman

The icon who launched the entire world of superheroes, the last son of Krypton escaped his dying world to crash land on Earth and be raised as Clark Kent. The world knows him better as Superman, the Man of Steel, the leader of the Justice League, and the most well-known hero in the DC Comics Universe. Blessed with the powers of a demigod, Kal-El of Krypton fights enemies both small and cosmic in his endless pursuit of truth, justice, and a better tomorrow.
