Summary

If your eReader is looking a little sparse and you’re craving some new worlds to explore, now may be the time to stock up. The folks over atIndie Author Centralare running a special event with deep discounts on science fiction and dystopian eBooks.

“Stuff Your eReader Day” is an event that runs for one week each month with a different genre. For July, it’s called “Something Strange,” and there are over 50 science fiction and dystopian eBooks on sale. It’s a treasure trove of lesser-known reads from independent writers, primarily for Kindle, but also for Kobo eReaders. The sale includes books that are completely free and $0.99.

List of sci-fi ebooks.

Buying big-name eBooks from Amazon and Kobo can really add up over time, especially if you read a lot of books every month.Project Hail Mary, which is one of my favorite recent books, for example, is $13 for the Kindle edition. A fast reader could easily devour the book in a couple of days. Plus, it can be fun to discover stories that are much farther off the beaten path, and find new authors to follow.

The Something Strange event started on July 15th (sorry for the late notice!) and runs through July 18th. The landing page allows you to sort through the offerings to find exactly what you’re looking for, even filtering for age-appropriate content through various “Spice Levels.” And again, while most of the deals are from Amazon, there are some available from Kobo as well.
