Halo Infinitehas had a long development cycle. Following tremendous fan backlash after last year’s preview of the game,Microsoft decided to delay the nextHaloentryfrom its original 2020 release window into sometime this year. Now, after being shown at E3 2021, and consistent development updates from 343 Industries, it seems like the game has been progressing quite nicely since last year’s divisive appearance. All that’s left is an official release date, and Krispy Kreme may have just revealed it.

An eagle-eyed Reddit user noticed a tweet from Xbox Mexico announcing a partnership with Krispy Kreme donuts that may have inadvertently also unofficially announcedHalo Infinite’s release date. The tweet when translated reads, “Why wait for November if we can start the festivities now?” implying that the game will be dropping sometime in November. This aligns with other rumors thatHalo Infinitewould be releasing sometime this fall, but it is nonetheless silly that a tweet about a partnership with Krispy Kreme is what leaks this information.
As mentioned, sinceHalo Infiniteis drawing nearer and nearer, more information and gameplay continues to be released by 343 Industries. Just recently, in a new stream, while it only took up a fraction of the run time, 343 Industries showed new footage ofHalo Infiniterunning on the Xbox One, finally giving players some sort of idea of the game’s performance on the last generation of hardware. Almost a year into the new generation of consoles, a permeating worry is that those who cannot upgrade or have not upgraded yet will be left behind, so it is reassuring to see the game running in a stable form on the Xbox One. Now if Xbox would officially come out with a release date for the game, then all worries could finally be set aside.
Halo Infinitelaunches later this year for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
