One of the biggest controversies about theNintendo Switch 2is its use of Game-Key Cards for most of its third-party releases, but it now seems like Nintendo is interested in hearing direct feedback from fans.Game-Key Cardsare, essentially, physical versions of digital games, with the game itself not being on the cartridge and requiring a full download from the internet, as if you were purchasing it from a digital store.
Nintendo of Americais now running a survey with various questions about how fans purchase Nintendo games, if they prefer digital or physical, and is also asking what factors would stop them from purchasing a game.Stealthre-posted the survey (which they creditedthe Well-Read Magefor making them aware of) on X, and wrote:“This is definitely the chance to make your voice heard about Switch 2 Game Key Cards.”

Nintendo Has A New Survey Regarding Digital & Physical Games
It Seems Nintendo Is Interested In Feedback
It was previously reported that Nintendo was sending out aGame-Key Card surveyto Japanese players to get feedback on whether it would affect that region’s players' willingness to buy a game.Third-party software sales have been low for the Switch 2, with a couple of exceptions, likeCyberpunk 2077, and almost all the third-party Switch 2 game releases thus far have been Game-Key Cards.
This new survey is aimed at the US and allows players to voice their concerns about physical, digital, and Game-Key Card gamesdirectly to Nintendo. The survey itself is a mix of pre-made button options, as well as additional text-entry boxes, so participants can be as detailed as they wish.

Game Key Cards Continue Being A Controversial Part Of Switch 2
One Of The Most Successful Consoles, Despite Some Problematic Choices
The Switch 2 had one of the mostcontroversial console launches in recent memory. From the higher-than-expected price tag for the console itself, to its major launch title,Mario Kart World, costing $80, and, of course, the use of Game-Key Cards, which many fans see as anti-consumer and an evenworse practice for game preservationthan digital purchases.
Despite all that, the Switch 2 is thefastest-selling console in historyand isshattering sales records. Still, it seems Nintendo is not completely satisfied with the way fans are responding to its game distribution strategy, so this newNintendo Switch 2survey may be the best chance fans have at voicing their concerns over Game-Key Cards.
