As Hayden Christensen prepares for his return inAhsokaseason 2, he is considering another return toStar Wars. After playing Anakin Skywalkerin the prequel trilogyfrom 2002 to 2005, Christensen reappeared on-screen inAhsokaseason 1, haunting his Padawan from beyond the grave, and he is set to reappear in the next season.

Having been involved in theStar Warsuniverse for over 20 years, Christensen has become a critical star of the franchise. His return inAhsokawas surprising, though it came after cameos inStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalkerand inObi-Wan Kenobi. While he will appear inAhsokaseason 2, Disney has not announced another opportunity for the actor.

While speaking at a panel at Fan Expo Boston for which Screen Rant was in attendance, Christensen expressed his excitement about the prospect of reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker once more. The decision is not Christensen’s to make, as it will depend on “the powers that be”, but Christensen would gladly appear as Anakin again. Check out his quote below:

One hundred percent… I would love to, yes. If the powers that be decide that’s something that they want to see, I would be there in a heartbeat.

What This Means For Hayden Christensen And Star Wars

While Anakin’s influence on Ahsoka is undeniable, she is not the only character who was deeply connected to the wayward Jedi. As Darth Vader, he devastated the galaxy, ruining countless lives asa ruthless Sith Lord. By sharing his excitement about returning, Christensen opened many paths for other potentialStar Warsshows.

If he is interested in leading a production in his own right, Christensen could star in a show aboutDarth Vader’s early years. Many comics and prose books could provide material for a compelling story, and it would allow Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni to further flesh out his character.

Christensen’s comment indicates that he is not currently involved in any further productions, given that he is still depending on “the powers that be”, but there is a chance that he is simply not sharing everything that he knows. There are many otherStar Warsproductions currently underway, and not all have been fully fleshed out to the public.

Our Take On Hayden Christensen’s Potential Return

As a major character in the prequels and in the original trilogy, Anakin remains one of the most importantStar Warscharacters. As the generation that was raised with Christensen’s Anakin continues to grow, it is only natural that he would have an increasing presence in the franchise.

After Obi-Wan and Ahsoka were both given shows of their own, Anakin deserves the chance to lead a show in his own right. While there is still no guarantee that it will ever be developed, as Disney is returning to a quality-over-quantity production style, it would be exciting to finally see Vader lead a show or movie of his own.
