Hogwarts Legacyplaces players in the shoes of a young student attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardryin the 1890s. What begins as a relatively ordinary term, however, slowly begins to become something much more sinister as dark forces are at work behind the scenes.

Before the player is roped intoHogwarts Legacy’s somewhat darker storyline, they must first complete a few duties as a student. Some of these duties can only be completed by leaving the Hogwarts school grounds and searching for items in different locations, but not all locations are easy to find.
Professor Garlick’s Assignment 1
To complete Professor Garlick’s Assignment 1, players will need to acquire someMandrakesandVenomous Tentaculasand use both plants while in combat. Utilizing the plants once they have been found is quite simple, but finding them might pose a challenge if players aren’t sure where to begin searching. Thankfully, it is possible to find these items by simply exploringHogwarts Legacy’s vast world, but there is a slightly more reliable way toobtain them in Hogsmeade, the wizarding village on the outskirts of Hogwarts.
Though players will gain access to Hogsmeade quite early in their playthrough when theyfollow Natty or Sebastion there, they won’t be required to visit all the magical stores scattered throughout the village. Because of this, they may not know what is available to them, which can make obtaining certain items slightly laborious later on. For example, though it is possible to locate Venomous Tentaculas and Mandrakes while exploring the world, both plants can also be created by purchasing seeds fromthe Dogweed and Deathcap shop.
Finding The Dogweed & Deathcap
Most of the stores in Hogsmeade are positioned quite close to one another, so it isn’t necessary to venture too far if players don’t want to. That said, one of the most convenient stores in the village, the Dogweed and Deathcap, can only be found by exploringthe village’s outskirts. From the center of the village,proceeding northwill eventually lead the player to the Dogweed and Deathcap, from which a variety of useful items can be purchased in exchange for Galleons.

There, the player will meet Beatrice Green, from whom they can purchase variousseeds and toolstohelp them on their journey. Alongside Mandrake Seeds and Venomous Tentacula Seeds, the Dogweed and Deathcap store also sellsChinese Chomping Cabbage Seedsthat, when grown, can be used in combat to inflict damage to enemies. The Dogweed and Deathcap also sellsFertilizer, a handy item that can be used to increase a plant’s yield.
Though stumbling upon plants and seeds inHogwarts Legacyis quite common, journeying to the Dogweed and Deathcap store is arguably the most reliable way to acquire them, but only if the player has amassed the required funds to purchase them.
