Magical Plants are an important part of the experience inHogwarts Legacy; there’seven an entire Herbology class dedicated to the study of them.Dittany Leavesare the first magical plants that players will be introduced to and remain one of the most useful ones throughout the entirety of the game.
Dittany Leaves are one oftwo ingredients needed to make Wiggenweld Potions, the primary method of healing when taking damage from poachers, Ashwinders, Pensieve Guardians, and whatever else may try to end the player’s journey early. Thankfully, there are several ways to get Dittany Leaves.

There are four main ways that players can obtain Dittany Leaves, but some methods are better than others. While not necessary, havingHogwarts Legacy’s Room of Requirement unlocked makes farming for Dittany Leaves much easier and quicker. Even so, players can get Dittany Leaves as soon as they get to Hogwarts.
Buying Dittany Leaves
For players that have no problem shelling out a few Galleons, Dittany Leaves can be purchased from stores all around the Scottish Highlands.The Magic Neep in Hogsmeade sells Dittany Leavesin limited quantities for 100 each, and other vendors in hamlets also sell the leaves. This is a very ineffective way to spend money inHogwarts Legacy, though.
Growing Dittany Leaves
Arguably the best way to obtain Dittany Leaves is to simply grow them. Players unlock their first planting pot afterattending Herbology with Professor Garlick, and Dittany Seeds are obtained as part of the story quests before this.
These seeds can be planted in any size pot and take 10 minutes to grow. Every time the player harvests them, they are rewarded with five Dittany Leaves.
Finding Dittany Leaves
It’s also possible to find Dittany Leaves while exploring. Several can be harvested right outside the Greenhouse, providing a quick way to get a few (these don’t seem to respawn). They are also relatively common findings in fields around Hogwarts.
Dittany Leaves From Chopping Stations
The final way to get Dittany Leaves isfrom a Chopping Station. This is a spellcraft players can purchase fromScrolls and Tomesfor 1500.
Placing this in the Room of Requirement will create a table that produces a random plant byproduct every nine minutes. While there’s a chance to get Dittany Leaves from this, it only produces one, which is totally random. All in all, growing Dittany Leaves is probably the easiest, cheapest, and most efficient way to get them.
