One Change To Ghost Team
Team GO Rocket Leader Giovanni has updated his team for June 2025 and so has the Ke Ke Ke Ke Grunt team. All the Grunts use nine Pokémon in three waves of three with each one being chosen at random for each battle. Out of the potential nine Pokémon, Ke Ke Ke Ke has onlychanged one since May 2025as part of its second wave.
All of the Pokémon Ke Ke Ke Ke will useare Shadow Pokémon, with their first being one out ofGastly,GolettorDuskill. Second will either be anotherGolett, Sableye,or (new for this month)Dusclops. For their final Pokémon in June 2025,they will use one out ofGengar, Alolan Marowak or Froslass.

While all ofKe Ke Ke Ke’s potential Pokémon are Ghost-types, most are dual types, which is where the difficulty of the battle comes in, making it important you pick the best Pokémon to combat them. Due to being Ghost-types eight out of the ninePokémon are weak against bothDark- and Ghost-type attacks.
It is best not to use fellow Ghost-type Pokémon despite being super-effective against Ke Ke Ke Ke’s line-up, because you will also take extra damage.
You should select two Dark-type Pokémonto combat the majority of opponents you could come up against. Your best options areTyranitar and Darkrai. Both are incredibly powerful attackers and have access to key Dark-type moves. These also work well for Ke Ke Ke Ke’s new Pokémon Dusclops.
For a third choice, it is good to use a Pokémon to combat Sableye, as it is the only one not weak against Dark-type moves. Instead, itsweakness isFairy-type attacks. So for a final Pokémonusing Togekiss or Xerneas covers Sableyein case it is selected.

A Shadow Encounter Awaits
There are several rewards you will gain from beating any of the Team Go Rocket Grunts, including Ke Ke Ke Ke in June 2025. The main reason for taking them down is you need to have defeated six of them to be able to face a GO Rocket Leader and thenGORocket Boss Giovanni, who offer huge rewards.
You will receive 5,000 stardust every time you defeat a GO Rocket Grunt this month, which can be used to power up any of your Pokémon regardless of if you have used them in the battle or not.
As soon as you have won the battle, you will encounter whichever Pokémon that Ke Ke Ke Ke started the battle with, out ofGastly, Duskull or Golett.Ke Ke Ke Ke remains one of the hardest Team GO Rocket Grunts, but you can easily defeat them by using a team of Dark-type Pokémon inPokémon GO.
