Humankindhas had a long and troubled development, but now fans can rejoice that it is coming to Game Pass day one when it launches later this year.

This historical, turn-based strategy game has been announced for some time, but has been hit with a variety of delays. Last yearit was announced thatHumankindwas being delayedinto spring of 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as many other games had to do, but was later pushed back even further to this summer. The game is reminiscent of other strategy titles likeCivilization, where the player controls factions throughout history, interacting with notable figures, and conquering lands, if they so desire. However,Humankindfeatures a semi-different tone that is not too focused on historical accuracy, but rather ambitiously rewriting it as the player sees fit.

A new post on Xbox Wire has confirmed thatHumankindwill be launching Day One on Xbox Game Pass for both its PC users. Since its announcement, the game was confirmed to be coming to the Epic Games Store, Steam, and Google Stadia, but now Game Pass users can get it included as part of their subscription. So that it is not misconstrued, though, the game is coming to PC Game Pass users only, meaningHumankindwill not be available for console players. Regardless, withHumankind, the list ofday one Game Pass games keeps getting biggerand bigger.

PC Game Pass users have often felt they are being short ended with Xbox’s service. Besides having less available games to select from in the library, an even tinier selection of those games are only playable on PC. Recent Game Pass titles have been dropping on both console and PC, but withHumankind, it is one of the rare new titles coming exclusively to PC. Releasing more titles that are exclusive to PC is a good way in makingGame Pass a better service for those users.
