Summary
After a two-year hiatus,Hunter x Hunterwill finally pick up where it left off in the manga. Shueisha, the manga’s publisher, has announced that the manga will resume on June 06, 2025. With mere months until readers get to return to the manga, excitement is definitely bubbling online and among the fandom.
Hunter x Hunterfollows the story of Gon Freecss, a bright-eyed-and-bushy-tailed young boy who wants to become a Hunter in the hopes tofind his long-lost father, Ging Freecss. His journey has a plethora of obstacles and enemies, but at least he has help with the many friends he has made along the way, especially Killua, Kurapika and Leorio.

The newest installment of the manga, Volume 38, will be ready in Japanese on September 4. The release of the English version is unclear. Chapters 391-400 are expected to be included in the new volume.
The manga will continue the Succession Contest Arc, which includes thefourteen Kakin Empire princesin a fight for the ruling seat of their kingdom. At this time, their ship, the Black Whale, is set to take a voyage to the Dark Continent. Looped into this storyline is Kurapika, who is still hunting down the people whoharvested his clan’s precious Scarlet Eyes. He is hired by Queen Oito Hui Guo Rou as part of her protection detail while trying to avenge his clan.
The mangaka, Yoshihiro Togashi, took a break from continuing with the manga due to health reasons. However, the fans have been getting little updates on the manga’s continuation on X. Togashi announced on the platform that chapters 401-403 were completed. Even new Gon art was released in anticipation of the new volume, he is depicted as sitting atop an iguna or lizard-esque creature.
Ever since Gon’s harrowing ordeal in theChimera Ant Arc, hopefully fans will receive an update in Volume 38 on whether he will regain his Nen control in full. While it appears that Volume 37 mainly focused on Kurapika, surely Gon, the leading protagonist, will not be forgotten.
