Although we don’t have an official release date yet forPokémonLegends: Z - A, I do think I have a pretty good idea of when we can expect it. While not a guarantee, based on previousPokémonreleases, and the information we have so far, I think it’s possible to narrow down the game’s release. While I’m not confident enough to give an exact date, I am at least pretty certain about what month the game will come out.

The promise of new Mega Evolutions anda reworked combat systemare enough to get me excited aboutPokémon Legends: Z-A. I’m also interested in seeing how aPokémontitle handles being restricted to a single city, so I’m eager to get my hands on the game when it does come out. While I wish it was a little bit sooner,I’m guessing thatPokémon Legends: Z-Asticks to thePokémontraditionbased on its currently announced release window.

Pokémon Legends Z-A Will Release In Late 2025

Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s Trailer Gave Us A Release Window

We know thatPokémon Legends: Z-A’s release windowisset for late 2025, thanks to the game’s trailer. This already basically narrows it down to one of two months, November or December. Although release windows aren’t an exact science, I would consider anything coming out in September or October to be hit with the “Fall 2025” label, as opposed to “late 2025.” So, I think it’s safe to rule out seeingPokémon Legends: Z-Aany sooner than November of this year.

A good recent example isPath of Exile 2,which was given a “late 2024” release window byPlayStation’s State of Play from May of that year. The game ended upcoming out in early access on Jun 11, 2025. That said,I’m not sure if we’ll have to wait all the way to December for the nextPokémongameto come out. To me, a November release date makes the most sense.

November 2025 Seems Like The Month For Legends Z-A To Release

November Allows For More Time Before The Holidays

A November release date makes a lot of sense to me forPokémon Legends: Z-A.A lot of big games tend to come out in November. Looking attheCall of Dutyfranchise, nearly two-thirds of the entire series were released in November, with a few more being released in late October. Now, last year there were a few more big releases in early December than in November, but in general, big releases tend to come out slightly in advance of the holiday season.

Pokémon Legends: Z-Acoming out in November, especially near the tail end of the month, would be perfect for holiday shoppers. AlthoughPokémonhas fans of all ages, it does have a strong appeal for younger players who may be getting the game as a holiday gift. Of course, an early December release is still on the table when considering the holidays, but there is one other reason whyI think we’ll seePokémon Legends: Z-Ain November instead.

November Releases Are A Pokémon Tradition

Recent Mainline Pokémon Games Have Come Out In November

I want to clarify in advance that when I talk aboutPokémonrelease dates here, I’m discussing mainline titles. ThePokémonfranchise is pretty huge, and games have been released at a variety of different times throughout the year. However, sincePokémon Omega RubyandAlpha Sapphireback in 2014, every mainline title in thePokémonseries has been released in November. Although I’m not sure if I’d consider them mainline games,Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu!andLet’s Go Eevee!were also released in November. That said, an exception to this pattern could call my prediction into question a bit.

There is one major break in this pattern that could be bad news for my prediction,Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which was released in January. While January is out of consideration forPokémon Legends: Z-A’s “late 2025” release window, it does show that thePokémon Legendsgames may not follow the same release pattern as mainline titles. Still,I am expecting thatPokémon Legends: Z-Awill follow the pattern of most majorPokémonreleasesin recent years, and come out in mid-November.

Pokémon Legends: Z-Acoming out around the third week of November would fit the pattern of previous big releases in the franchise, and it would give customers a good amount of time to get the game before the holidays. Although it would likely be too recent to be discounted as part of any Black Friday deals, it would still be beneficial for a newPokémongame to be on the shelf before one of the biggest shopping days of the year. While I could be wrong, my money is onPokémon Legends: Z-Acoming out in November.
